[ sameness flicks ] For Your Viewing Pleasure
/Introducing Sameness Flicks, a very mini film festival featuring sameness-themed flicks to do your soul well.
We're mixing things up a little and bringing some sameness to the big screen, or at least to some medium sized screens, across November & December.
We've come across so many good films lately that resonate with the themes of sameness that we figured the best thing to do would be to gather some cool people ( you ), sit down, watch the films, and simply enjoy.
We've joined forces with The Archive and A4 Space to make the Sameness Flicks goodness happen and we'll be adding our own [sameness] project touch to each screening.
AND it's all free, so you know, book it in!
Check out the films and dates below!
Each film will screen once at The Archive (outdoors) MAP HERE and once at A4 Space (indoors) during the same week, so there are two options for you catch it and a second screening to bring friends to when you find out how good each film is from watching it the first time.
And just incase you don't trust us that these films are totally worth seeing, here are the trailers:
Dancing in Jaffa
Renowned ball-room dancer Pierre Dulaine takes his program, Dancing Classrooms, back to his city of birth, Jaffa, to teach Jewish and Palestinian Israelis to dance and compete together.
Sleepwalk With Me
A burgeoning stand-up comedian struggles with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship, and the wild spurts of severe sleepwalking he is desperate to ignore.
Blood Brother
Blood Brother is an intimate portrait of Rocky Braat, a young man who longed to find a family. He didn't know it, but this desire would lead him to an AIDS hostel in India, a place of unspeakable hardship, where he would find almost more love and need than he could bear.
