[ water for workers ] A May Woohooo
/We're calling the official start of summer. The first Water for Workers has been & gone, it was awesome, it was VERY hot, and that's all the information we need to confirm the HOT.SWEATY.FUN season.
We never really have an exact idea of how many people will come to the first W4W of summer - is everyone as keen as they say online? Is it too hot for people to come out? Should we plan for more or less?
Luckily by about 9.45am we always realise that the community loves this initiative and can't wait to get out amongst the workers of Dubai and share some sameness.
From the first group of volunteers right on 10am we had just under 500 good humans collect water and "we care about you" facecloths and all of it was gone in 45 minutes.
The temperatures for the day hovered around 38 degrees Celsius, but felt much warmer, and when all was said and done the W4W summer started with a bang.
Rather than us telling you all about W4W from our point of view you can check out the social media action from the volunteers as they hit spots all over Dubai and had some genuinely cool connections.

We also had some lovely coverage in the media for our first Water for Workers adventure of 2016. Here are just three of the features (click title to view article):
